About the Opportunity
Redda Group has been retained by a leading law firm to identify an Attorney for its Chemical Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated global clients on patent prosecution, due diligence, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and strategic intellectual property counseling matters within the chemical and life sciences sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support patent prosecution matters for domestic and international patent portfolios.
- Conduct due diligence reviews and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
- Provide patent counseling and strategic intellectual property advice to clients.
- Supervise and mentor technical specialists and support staff on day-to-day matters.
- Assist with managing large global patent portfolios for high-profile clients.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to the development of IP strategies.
- Collaborate with attorneys, scientists, and clients on complex chemical and patent-related matters.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree and active bar membership in a state where the firm maintains an office.
- Licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, due diligence, FTO, and IP counseling matters.
- Experience managing or supporting large client patent portfolios.
- Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Patent Agent or Technical Specialist.
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Experience supervising technical specialists and coordinating complex patent matters.
- Experience working with multinational patent portfolios and global patent strategy.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base annual salary range: $225,000 - $260,000

Compensation will vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.
