Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Transport freight over long distances across multiple states, managing over-the-road (OTR) driving routes with professionalism and attention to safety.
- Handle hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations, including proper documentation and safety procedures.
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations while maintaining excellent customer service during drop-offs and pickups.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo details, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across various terrains.
- Familiarity with operating different types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including freight loading/unloading techniques.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
- Understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and hazardous materials handling is essential.
- Previous experience transporting hazardous or dangerous goods is advantageous.
- Strong skills in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments during trips.

Pay: $1,750.00 - $2,000.00 per week
