Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
The Machinist operates, inspects, cleans, and maintains CNC machines to produce high-quality parts that meet precise specifications. This role focuses on setting up CNC equipment for a variety of operations, including drilling, boring, and milling, while carefully interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Responsibilities

Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently to perform drilling, boring, milling, and other machining operations.

Set up CNC machines for different jobs, including selecting tools, loading materials, and configuring machine settings according to setup documents.

Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and other technical documents to determine job requirements and machining parameters.

Understand and follow setup documents to ensure correct tooling, fixtures, and programs are used for each job.

Inspect finished products using appropriate measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances against job specifications and quality requirements.

Compare machined parts to established quality standards and tolerances, and make adjustments to the machine or process as needed.

Clean and maintain CNC machines regularly to ensure reliable operation and extend equipment life.

Monitor machine performance during production runs and address issues such as tool wear, material defects, or dimensional deviations.

Maintain a neat and organized work area in accordance with safety and quality guidelines.
Essential Skills-
Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience.

Proficiency in setting up CNC machines for multiple operations such as drilling, boring, and milling.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately.

Strong understanding of technical documents and setup instructions related to CNC machining.

Experience inspecting finished products and verifying dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools.

Ability to compare machined parts against quality requirements and specified tolerances.

Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail in a precision manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Experience working with setup documents to configure CNC machines efficiently.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that supports precision machining and consistent working conditions. Available schedules include a second shift from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and a weekend shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The work is performed on CNC machines in a production environment that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to quality standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
