Project Foreman
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent
Job Description:
The Project Foreman is responsible for the direct supervision and execution of all job site activities across Production, Custom, Homeowner, and Commercial (as assigned) projects. This role ensures jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to Alliance Pavers standards; that crews are productive, accountable, and professional; and that job details are tracked, communicated, and executed daily. The Project Foreman reports to the Assistant Superintendent and is responsible for turning plans into results in the field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Site Execution:
- Lead all work on assigned job sites from start to finish, ensuring jobs are set up properly, running efficiently, and completed on schedule.
- Maintain control of the job site at all times.
Crew Leadership & Accountability:
- Directly manage and supervise crew members; assign daily tasks and production goals.
- Hold crew accountable for productivity, attendance and punctuality, and work quality.
- Address performance issues immediately and maintain a professional and respectful job site.
Job Tracking & Reporting:
- Track and report daily on job progress, start and finish dates, and any delays or issues.
- Keep the Assistant Superintendent informed at all times with accurate updates on job status.
Profitability Awareness:
- Manage crew efficiency to stay within labor budgets.
- Minimize downtime, rework, and material waste; ensure crew is working at expected production pace.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all work meets Alliance Pavers standards for base preparation, compaction, alignment and grading, edge restraint, and joint sanding and finishing.
- Inspect work throughout the day, not just at completion; correct issues immediately before moving forward.
Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with the Assistant Superintendent and crew members at all times.
- Report delays, material shortages, and site issues promptly; ask questions early — do not assume.
Site Organization & Safety:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
- Ensure proper use of tools and equipment and enforce safe work practices; address unsafe behavior immediately.
Daily Responsibilities:
Morning – Start of Day:
- Ensure crew arrives on time and ready; conduct a quick morning huddle to review job scope, assign roles and responsibilities, and set production goals for the day.
- Confirm materials are on site, equipment is ready, and layout is correct; identify any issues before starting work.
- Check in with the Assistant Superintendent to confirm expectations and address any concerns.
Mid-Day – Execution & Control:
- Stay engaged with crew at all times; ensure work is moving efficiently and crew stays on task.
- Continuously inspect base work and installation accuracy; fix problems immediately.
- Track progress against daily goals and adjust crew assignments if needed.
Afternoon – Progress & Adjustments:
- Compare completed work vs. daily target; identify if the job is ahead or behind schedule.
- Address delays, material issues, and crew performance problems as they arise.
End of Day:
- Clean and secure the job site; ensure all tools and equipment are accounted for.
- Report to the Assistant Superintendent: work completed, current job status, any issues or delays, and plan for the next day.
- Confirm materials and plan for the following day; ensure crew is clear on expectations.
Weekly Responsibilities:
- Review job progress with the Assistant Superintendent and ensure jobs are staying on schedule.
- Identify any risks to completion timelines and reinforce expectations with the crew.
Authority:
- Direct crew activities and assign tasks and responsibilities.
- Address minor disciplinary issues and make real-time decisions to keep the job moving.
Leadership Expectations:
- Lead from the front — be hands-on and set the pace and standard for the crew.
- Communicate clearly and directly; take ownership of problems and solve them.
- No excuses — focus on results; hold the crew accountable without hesitation and deliver consistent, high-quality work.
