Job Summary:
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our pediatric therapy team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) to provide high-quality therapy services that support children in developing the skills they need for play, learning, and independence in daily life.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising OTR.
- Provide therapeutic activities to support children’s fine motor development, sensory processing, self-care, play, and school readiness skills.
- Document session notes, progress, and performance accurately and in compliance with state and organizational guidelines.
- Support children in achieving developmental milestones through engaging, play-based interventions.
- Educate and coach families and caregivers on strategies to promote independence and skill carryover at home and in the community.
- Collaborate with OTRs, teachers, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure consistency of care.
- Maintain a safe, fun, and supportive therapy environment tailored to children’s needs.
- Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Active state licensure.
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Creative, patient, and flexible approach to therapy.
- Pediatric experience preferred (clinic, school, early intervention, or related setting), but new graduates welcome to apply.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly desired
