CCLC Preschool Director Job Description
The Porch Church is looking for a unique blend of an empathetic educator, organized administrator, and resilient business leader. This role requires emotional and relational intelligence as well as being highly skilled, organized, and able to set healthy boundaries.
The Preschool Director provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the preschool program. This position is responsible for daily operations, staff supervision, curriculum support, family engagement, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance. The Director fosters a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment that supports the spiritual, social, emotional, and educational development of children while promoting strong relationships with families, staff, and church leadership.
Qualifications
- Director qualification through the State of Colorado required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and ministry-based education.
- Comprehensive, fingerprint-based criminal history and child abuse background check overseen by the Colorado Department of Early Education (CDEC)
- First Aid and CPR Certification
Duties and Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Model Christ-centered leadership and uphold the church’s Biblical Code of Conduct.
- Promote the integration of Christian values throughout the preschool program.
- Encourage spiritual growth among children, families, and staff.
- Support the mission and ministry of the church through the preschool program.
Program Leadership and Administration
- Demonstrate emotional maturity, healthy professional boundaries, conflict resolution skills, and sound judgment in all interactions.
- Oversee the daily operation of the preschool program.
- Provide leadership and support for curriculum planning and implementation.
- Develop, review, and update preschool policies, procedures, and handbooks.
- Maintain accurate student, staff, and program records.
- Ensure consistent implementation of classroom management and behavior guidance practices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of preschool programs and recommend improvements as needed.
- Stay informed regarding current best practices in Early Childhood Education.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support preschool staff.
- Conduct formal and informal observations and performance evaluations.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Lead staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service programs.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
Family Engagement and Student Support
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children and families.
- Address parent concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with teachers and families to develop behavior support plans when appropriate.
- Support the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development of students.
- Process enrollment applications and maintain student waitlists.
Events and Community Engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee preschool events and family engagement activities, including:
- Family Worship Events
- Speech and Development Screenings
- Muffins with Mom
- Donuts with Dad
- Christmas Programs
- Parent Education Opportunities
- Other preschool and church-related events throughout the school year
Financial and Regulatory Compliance
- Assist with budget development and monitor preschool financial performance.
- Develop annual enrollment goals and strategies to support program sustainability.
- Monitor tuition revenue, expenditures, and budget performance.
- Provide regular financial and enrollment reports to church leadership.
- Maintain compliance with all CDEC licensing requirements and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and fire regulations.
- Maintain all required licensing documentation and records.
- Participate in inspections, audits, and licensing visits as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain proficiency with preschool management software, student records systems, and communication platforms.
- Provide support and guidance regarding student, parent, and staff concerns.
- Participate in daily arrival and dismissal procedures.
- Assist with emergency preparedness planning and safety drills.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the preschool and church mission.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and move throughout the preschool environment for extended periods of time. The position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and lift or carry classroom materials and supplies. Occasional outdoor work and local travel may be required.
The employee may encounter challenging situations involving children, families, or staff and must exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.
Reporting and Supervision
The Preschool Director reports directly to the Lead Pastor who provides supervision, oversight, and accountability. The Preschool Director and Lead Pastor work collaboratively with the church board.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, salaried position requiring regular weekday hours. The preschool schedule follows the Cherry Creek School District (CCSD) calendar. Occasional evening and weekend attendance may be required for church and preschool events.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $65,000 to $70,000 annually
