As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Professional Dog Trainer who shares our passion for helping dogs succeed and wants to grow alongside a supportive, family-oriented team.
Position Overview
We're seeking a motivated, experienced, and dependable dog trainer who is passionate about canine behavior and enjoys building strong relationships with both dogs and their owners.
This position includes working with dogs enrolled in our Board & Train programs, conducting private lessons, coaching owners, and helping create individualized training plans that produce lasting results.
Professional dog training experience is required to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct private training sessions and coach owners on proper handling and training techniques.
- Train dogs enrolled in our Board & Train programs.
- Develop and implement individualized training plans based on each dog's needs.
- Work on obedience, impulse control, socialization, confidence building, and behavior modification.
- Safely handle dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments.
- Complete detailed daily training notes and progress reports.
- Assist with behavioral evaluations and consultations as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment.
- Collaborate with fellow trainers and staff to provide exceptional client experiences.
- Represent and uphold the training philosophy and professional standards of Matan Dog Training.
- Continue learning and developing professionally through ongoing education and mentorship.
Qualifications
- Previous professional dog training experience (required).
- Strong understanding of canine behavior, learning theory, and practical training techniques.
- Experience working with behavioral cases such as reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression, or impulse control is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Professional, reliable, and punctual.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Comfortable performing physically active work, including walking, exercising, lifting, and handling dogs throughout the day.
