POSITION GOAL
To procure supplies and equipment to meet the needs of the district in the most efficient and cost effective means possible
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. *Review purchase requisitions to assure source and price are in the best interests of the district.
2. *Prepare complete solicitation specifications when required by state law, or when economically advantageous to do so.
3. *Procure goods and services.
4. *Equip and furnish new school construction and renovation projects.
5. *Research and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the different commodity classifications assigned through vendor contracts, literature, or other means.
6. *Oversee all facets of the procurement process, including the pre-solicitation process, solicitation process, bid/proposal openings, evaluation, tabulation/summary, award recommendation, and the contract management process upon school board approval.
7. *Participate in staff development and training sessions to maintain a competitive purchasing edge to support the needs of the district.
8. *Train district staff as assigned.
9. *Perform periodic reviews of bid activity to assess and recommend courses of action for future solicitations to bid.
10. *Ensure all departments and schools comply with state laws and school board policies as they relate to the purchasing of goods or services.
11. *Communicate with school staff and vendors to effectively accomplish purchasing objectives.
12. *Participate in the activities of the Disaster Preparedness and Response Team as designated.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Purchasing.
