A SHIFT: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
Expected hours: No less than 40 hours per week
B SHIFT: Tuesday through Thursday, 5:00 pm – 5:00 am (10% Shift differential)
Expected hours: No less than 36 hours per week
MUST TRAIN ON A SHIFT FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS

Job Summary
The Machinist 3 will be a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist with expertise in both lathe and mill operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines, including 3-axis mills and 2-axis lathes. Experience with 5-axis or live tooling is a plus. They will ensure parts are machined to tight tolerances, inspect finished components, and maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to machine precision parts.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Create or modify CNC programs as needed for efficient production.
- Perform accurate in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Maintain tooling, fixtures, and equipment in optimal working condition.
- Document and complete inspection and production reports.
- Ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior machinists or apprentices.
- Show willingness to learn and grow into advanced machining processes including 5-axis milling or live-tool lathe operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
- Proficient with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
- Ability to set up any part independently on both a 3-axis mill and a 2-axis lathe.
- Understanding of G-code programming and toolpath editing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Self-motivated and dependable with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Physical Requirements and Typical Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment including noise, dust, sparks, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
- Use of hands and fingers to operate tools and machines
