GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Medical Assistants are the backbone of our clinic and play a big role in our success. We're looking for someone dedicated to providing the best patient care possible with a big emphasis on empathy. As a MA you will be expected to execute a variety of daily support functions that are critical to providing quality care and ensuring our clinic runs smoothly. The ideal candidate should be totally comfortable demonstrating competency in all skills related to patient care. As someone who will spend one-on-one time with our patients, we will rely on your excellent customer service skills. Your efforts will ensure an efficient and comfortable stay for our patients. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Guide patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Record patients' medical history, vitals, or information such as test results in medical records.
- Perform POCT based on patient’s chief complaint and standing protocols for physician.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician via intramuscular or subcutaneous route.
- Venipuncture blood collections, handle and prepare specimens, and order for laboratory analysis.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations or sterile procedures.
- Disinfects, cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations.
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required; Properly dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Routinely check faxes, emails, and voicemails throughout shift.
- Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
- Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), Audiometer, Spirometer, and or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
- Perform various basic vision tests on patients.
- Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing after provided training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:
- Current CPR/ BLS certification (preferred)
- Medical Assistant experience (3 years minimum)
- Knowledge of working with EMR systems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods standing, reaching, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Good communicator with team members, as well as with our patients and families
- Flexibility and cooperative team player willing to help other staff members.
- High attention to detail, including documentation in the EMR
- Excellent time management

- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Administration of vaccines and injections
- Knowledge of immunization schedules
- Administration of diagnostic tests, including but not limited to RSV, step, flu, covid and urinalysis
