Superintendent - Commercial Construction

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: (a more complete description is available)
- Commercial Construction Superintendent experience with clear understanding and application of commercial construction means and methods, construction drawings, documents, contracts, estimates, project plans, schedules, specifications, change orders, managing teams, etc.
- Plan, organize, and direct the construction of commercial building projects, subcontractors, inspectors, vendors, and suppliers so that project completes on time and within budget.
- Mitigate risks, and be responsible for the overall success of the project.
- Manage all projects assigned and keep up with project management reports.
- Manages job progress, maintain up to date documentation in management software as specified, and update project photos. Have a clear understanding of documentation and processes between the owner, architect, and contractor.
- Budgeting, keep project within budget and scope and complete on time.
- Manage safety protocols to ensure job sites consistently adheres to OSHA safety standards. Responsible for all pertinent Safety and Quality Control policies and procedures.
- Responsibilities and daily tasks include traveling to various project sites, and in the office.
- Participate in project owner’s meetings and “in-house” staff meetings.
- Assist the Ferrara Buist Contractors Team on all project needs. Communicate clearly with the CM, VP, Owner, Architect, Engineers, and other Ferrara Buist team members at appropriate intervals so that all are kept apprised of project progress and any needed inputs.
- Must have good time management skills, be efficient, have great communication skills, problem solving, leadership ability, be positive, innovative, have integrity, honesty, able to negotiate, and have a teamwork attitude for this role.
BENEFITS:
Pay starting range $85K (depending on skills and experience)
Accrued vacation, plus Major US Holidays
Accrued personal/sick leave.
30 and 90 day reviews to determine onboarding progress and path forward, and then ongoing six month and twelve month path forward reviews and ongoing support.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Commercial Construction Superintendent experience of at least 5 or more years, is required.
- Prefer a Bachelor in Construction related degree, or equivalent training and work experience.
- Must be either OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certified, and have good safety skills.
- Must be computer literate and have experience with construction related software, and the ability to learn quickly is a must. Prefer experience with Procore, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and/or Suretrak, Bluebeam, Excel, and other related software.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must driver's license and have a good driving record.
- Must be at the office daily, and visit various assigned project sites daily and weekly as needed, and attend meetings at other sites when needed.
- Ability to walk sites, lift 100lbs, climb ladders, work with tools, manage job sites, etc.
- Minimum of 3 work and character references
- Must be legal to work in USA, (not offering sponsorship at this time).
- Must be drug free, pass drug testing, and pass a background check.
