Receiving & Warehouse Associate
Location: Mishawaka, IN Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) Shift: 1st Shift Pay: Starting at $19.00/hour
A well-established, small, international light manufacturing and assembly company in Mishawaka is hiring a Receiving & Warehouse Associate to join our team. What You'll Do (full job description available at interview):
Receiving & Material Processing
§ Process incoming shipments and verify materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation, physically and electronically
§ Unload, identify, label, and properly route incoming materials
§ Inspect incoming parts and materials for quantity, visible damage, and general conformity
§ Report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials to appropriate personnel; identify and segregate nonconforming or questionable materials
§ Support material traceability and receiving documentation requirements
§ Coordinate with production, purchasing, and quality personnel to support operations
Material Inspection & Quality Support
§ Perform staging incoming materials for inspection and quality review
§ Completing, maintaining, and filing receiving inspection records in accordance with the quality system and retention schedule
Warehouse Operations, Organization, and Housekeeping
§ Perform accurate inventory handling and material control practices
§ Maintain warehouse inventory and storage locations, physical and electronic
§ Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives
§ Operate warehouse equipment and material handling devices safely, as trained and authorized; perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues
§ Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safe working conditions; dispose of packaging and waste materials appropriately; follow workplace organization practices when applicable
§ Follow company procedures, safety standards, and work instructions
Safety and Compliance
§ Follow company safety policies and procedures
§ Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
§ Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses
§ Support OSHA, quality, and company operational standards
What You Need:
§ Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or light industrial environments
§ Experience with incoming inspection or quality support processes
§ Familiarity with inventory systems, barcode scanning, and ERP software
§ Forklift or material handling equipment experience -- must be able to complete employer-provided forklift training after hire.
You will also need:
§ High school diploma or equivalent
§ Prior receiving, warehouse, and material handling experience
§ Solid computer skills and comfort with inventory or ERP systems
§ Experience with standard warehouse processes and inventory handling
§ Knowledge of ISO requirements and strong attention to detail and organizational skills
§ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
§ Basic math skills including reading fractions and decimals
§ Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
§ Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, communicate respectfully and directly, ask for help when needed, and raise errors, concerns, and safety issues promptly
§ Maintain a physically safe environment
Physical Requirements
This role involves standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent bending/reaching, and regularly lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs using mechanical or team-lift assistance (required for anything over 50 lbs — no solo lifting).
