JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Equipment Operator - Yard Mule and Forklift
Status: FT-Permanent
Reports to: Manager
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled truck and forklift operator to support cargo vessel loading/unloading, container loading and warehousing at our shipping terminal located on the Miami River. You will be operating a yard mule and or forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job will involve loading and offload cargo vessels, offloading trucks, operating in tight warehouse spaces, onboard cargo vessels and storage spaces.
You must be a responsible individual with experience driving industrial vehicles. You will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all cargo is handled with the utmost care and assuring the Company's equipment is operated efficiently and safely at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating yard trucks and forklifts supporting the loading and offloading of cargo vessels
- Offloading / Receiving cargo from trucks ensuring material received in good, sound condition
- Collaborating with peers, assuring equipment is well maintained
- Load containers as well as deck loading cargo vessels
- Assure complete and efficient operations
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Effective English language, verbal and reading skills
- Basic computer skills may be required
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others, always promoting a safe work environment
- Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license, CDL not required but helpful
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards
Physical Demands and Abilities:
- Regularly sitting on a powered industrial vehicle
- Frequently lift heavy items and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
- Having a good sense of balance
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Conditions:
- Work is performed primarily in the warehouse/outdoors; exposed to all possible environmental factors such as heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shifts.
- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Minimal vibration though hands when using power tools and throughout body when operating power industrial equipment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
