Job Description
Title: Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager
Immediate Supervisor: School Principal
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
Must participate to obtain National Restaurant Association Certification or similar state or national program
Skills and Abilities:
- In the absence of the Child Nutrition Manager, supervise and instruct kitchen personnel in the safe, proper, and efficient use of all kitchen equipment.
- Perform managerial duties for the entire operation of the program in the absence of the Manager
Assist in maintaining the highest standards of safety and cleanness in the kitchen.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner
- Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas
- Assume responsibility for seeing that during meal service periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly
- Perform major cleaning of equipment and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the Manager
- Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods
- Maintain such records as necessary for accountability
- Maintain proper and professional relationship with students and other employees
- Be familiar with and follow Board of Education Policies
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes good public relations
- Be informed and able to implement contingency plans in case of emergencies
- Be regular and punctual in attendance
- Attend Child Nutrition Program workshops and other appropriate in-service meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality of any school system related business
Perform other job-related duties that may be reasonably required by the Principal or Child Nutrition Director
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to lift 50 pounds of weight
Other Attributes:
- Is well-groomed and appropriately dressed
- Interacts and communicates with subordinates in the cafeteria effectively
Represents the school cafeteria system, school, and all school personnel in a positive manner at all times
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
