Position Title: Automotive Service Technician
Reports to: Store Manager
Position Summary: The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing basic vehicle maintenance and tire services in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role supports the service team by delivering high-quality workmanship, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent customer service while following Big O Tires’ procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and battery services.
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections to identify wear, leaks, or potential issues.
- Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on more complex systems.
- Complete brake services, minor repairs, and adjustments under supervision.
- Use proper tools, equipment, and safety procedures while working on vehicles.
- Document all maintenance and repairs performed in accordance with shop guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools/equipment are properly used and stored.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and team members regarding vehicle status.
- Stay current on automotive technologies and participate in ongoing training as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience of automotive systems and repair procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform advanced repairs requiring physical strength, precision, and endurance.
- Ability to lift to 100 lbs. as needed.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
