Position Overview
We are seeking a capable Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload of civil and commercial matters, provide defense work in insurance and general liability claims, and support trial preparation under the guidance of partners. This role requires a strong litigation background (JD, licensed Attorney) and offers opportunities to build trial experience and contribute to a growing practice.
Key Responsibilities

Manage an active caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters from intake through resolution, including insurance defense and general liability claims.

Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents; prepare and respond to discovery.

Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive memoranda and client advisories.

Prepare for and take depositions, represent clients at hearings, and assist in trial preparation and jury selection.

Collaborate with partners and team members to develop case strategy and evaluate settlement options.

Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to advance case objectives and maintain client relationships.

Supervise and mentor junior staff and coordinate with paralegals, experts, and vendors as needed.

Maintain accurate billing records, meet project deadlines, and manage matters efficiently using firm systems.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law (Attorney) in California

Minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience; solid courtroom exposure and comfort with litigation practice required.

Demonstrated experience in civil and commercial litigation; experience with insurance defense, CGL (Commercial General Liability), and general liability matters is highly desirable.

Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills with attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, persuasive pleadings and briefs.

Practical experience preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials; trial experience is a strong plus.

Excellent client communication, negotiation, and case management skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Proficiency with litigation support tools, e-discovery platforms, and standard law firm billing systems.

Professional demeanor, strong ethics, and commitment to quality representation; business development interest is a plus.
