SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Base Civil Engineering (BCE) Shop, 124 Civil Engineer Squadron (CES), Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG), functioning within the State of Idaho – Military Division. The primary purpose of these positions is to operate, inspect and maintain IDANG construction equipment, maintain IDANG landscape, perform snow removal and maintenance operations of the Air Field and IDANG base properties.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (attach as a supporting document in Luma):
(1) Must be an enlisted member of the Idaho National Guard. Provide your military grade, job title, MOS/AFSC and unit of assignment.
(2) Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver’s license (from any state), and be capable of obtaining a military driver’s license to operate vehicles and specialized equipment. Provide your driver’s license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. ( Do not provide a copy of your driver’s license.)
(3) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable T3 (SECRET) Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable T3, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment. (At a minimum, a favorable suitability determination by the State Security Manager is required prior to appointment into this position.)
(4) Must be willing and able to perform all physical aspects of this job.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (attach as a supporting document in Luma):
Must have 12-months of experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge. Education and training may be used to offset experience.
(1) Knowledge of proper technical and safety practices and certification procedures relating to heavy equipment.
(2) Knowledge of the safe operating characteristics and limitations of tractors and engineering equipment and attachments such as bulldozers, graders, and front-end loaders, sweeper, snowplow, excavator, backhoe, dump truck, tractor-trailer, crane, dozer, forklift, roller, mower (tractor), grader, and front-end loader.
(3) Knowledge of the nature of the soil and features of the terrain to determine the proper approach according to the condition of the surface and subsurface. Skill to manipulate the various equipment and attachment controls at the same time and to maneuver in confined areas.
(4) Knowledge of the proper use and storage of chemicals to include the proper use of Safety Data Sheets.
(5) Skill and ability to communicate by radio with Civil Engineering Production Control and Boise Municipal Airport Ground Control.
(6) Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to accept responsibility and maintain accountability for work performed.
(7) Ability and skill to proficiently estimate labor man-hours and materials accurately for construction projects using acceptable estimating standards.
(8) Knowledge of maintaining landscape to include xeriscape, weed control, tree pruning, general soil maintenance and pest control in accordance with IDANG Policy.
(9) Knowledge and ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on heavy snow removal equipment such as Oshkosh blowers, sweepers and plows.
