Duties
- Design and assemble floral arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, events, and everyday celebrations
- Select and source high-quality flowers, foliage, and decorative accents to ensure vibrant and lasting designs
- Assist customers by understanding their needs and providing expert floral recommendations
- Maintain the freshness and appearance of floral displays through proper handling, watering, and storage techniques
- Manage inventory levels of flowers, supplies, and merchandising displays to optimize sales opportunities
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions, including cash handling and retail math calculations
- Organize stockroom areas efficiently, ensuring flowers are properly stored and displayed for easy access
- Collaborate with team members on merchandising strategies to enhance visual appeal and customer engagement
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering suggestions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
Experience
- Prior experience in floral design or related horticultural fields such as gardening or landscape maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of floral design principles, color theory, and arrangement techniques is highly desirable
- Familiarity with retail operations including cashiering, stocking, merchandising, and POS systems enhances effectiveness in this role
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with horticulture practices such as lawn care or landscape maintenance can be beneficial but is not mandatory
