VESTRA Resources is seeking a Regulatory Geologist/Hydrologist with 0 to 5 years related experience. This person will support and/or manage projects associated with various public and private sector clients. Projects include a mix of office and fieldwork responsibilities. Field work includes drilling oversight, logging soil borings, installing wells/piezometers, sampling various media (groundwater, soil, surface water, etc.), documenting activities onsite, and directing subcontractors. Office tasks include data reduction, statistical analysis, regulation interface, regulatory application and analysis, report preparation, and coordinating logistics for field efforts.
Schedule/location of position:
This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, benefited position. This position will require occasional overtime. If you are asked to work beyond 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week, we provide overtime compensation in accordance with state and federal law. This is an in-person position that will report to our office location in Redding, California, with some travel required for field assignments. Travel for project sites and tasks for this position are generally within 3 hours of VESTRA's office location and same day assignments; occasional overnight travel may occur. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
Qualifications include:

BS/MS in Geology, Hydrology, Hydrogeology or related field, required.

Zero (0) to five (5) years of experience.

Any combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Good communication skills - both verbal and written, required.

Self-motivated, strong initiative and work ethic, ability to work independently, required.

Ability to lift and move approximately 50 lbs., work in the field, operate a 4-wheel drive truck and an ATV, and operate and calibrate field measurement equipment, required.

Geologist in Training Certification, preferred.

Knowledge and experience in California regulations associated with investigation, water quality, remediation, and solid waste, preferred.

Experience in environmental consulting and/or ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, preferred.

Project management experience, a plus.
