We are a fast-paced, team-oriented shop looking for a knowledgeable and courteous Service Writer to be the vital link between our customers and our technicians. Position Overview
As a Service Writer, you are the face and voice of our shop. You will manage customer interactions from the initial phone call to the final vehicle pickup. Your primary goal is to provide a seamless, transparent experience for our clients while keeping our technicians efficiently loaded with work.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relations: Answer incoming phone calls, greet walk-in customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and schedule appointments.
- Estimate Creation: Translate customer descriptions into accurate repair orders and build comprehensive cost estimates for parts and labor.
- Shop Liaison: Effectively communicate vehicle issues and customer expectations to our General Service Techs and Lead Technicians.
- Warranty Management: Navigate, submit, and manage aftermarket and manufacturer warranty claims to ensure proper coverage and reimbursement.
- Sales & Consulting: Explain complex mechanical issues and recommended maintenance to customers in a clear, non-technical, and respectful manner.
- Quality Control: Review completed work orders, finalize invoices, and explain the work performed to customers upon vehicle pickup.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
- Mechanical Knowledge: You don't need to be a master tech, but you must deeply understand vehicle mechanics, parts, and how repairs are performed to build accurate estimates.
- Courteous Professionalism: A genuinely friendly, empathetic, and respectful attitude. You know how to keep your cool and deliver excellent service even when a customer is stressed.
- Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for talking with customers, techs, and warranty companies.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with shop management software (e.g., Shop-Ware, Mitchell 1, RO Writer) is a huge plus.
- Organization: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and keep the front office running smoothly.
Pay: From $4,000.00 per month
