Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Handle food with care, following proper food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene.
- Cook ingredients using various techniques, including chopping, grilling, frying, and baking, utilizing knife skills and culinary knowledge.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by regularly sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Assist with meal preparation for catering orders or large groups when needed.
- Serve food efficiently to customers or in-house diners while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, monitoring expiration dates, and notifying supervisors of supply needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or the food industry is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation techniques.
- Strong understanding of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in cooking methods are desirable.
- Experience with catering or large-scale food service operations is beneficial.
