Knowledge Requirement
Mastery of EMT and paramedic content is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Outstanding interpersonal skills required, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of students (including those with special needs), faculty and staff required. Ability to work as part of a team required. Knowledge of a variety of teaching delivery methods necessary. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality. Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
Licensing or Certification Requirements
Current Paramedic Certification- Licensure
Maryland Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic
Maryland Instructor Certification Review Board (MICRB) Level II Instructor, preferred
National Certified EMS Educator (NCEE), preferred
Associates degree mandatory, Baccalaureate preferred
Standard EMS equipment and supplies, including manekins and instructional models. Microcomputers/laptops; projection equipment; printers; copiers; adaptive technology for students with disabilities; general office equipment of all kinds.
Supervision Reports directly to the Primary Instructor of the course and the EMS Program Director, AD Health and Sciences Division
