Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes and baked goods with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and edible decorations according to customer specifications and company standards
- Prepare and assemble cakes, including layering, filling, and applying decorative elements with precision
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by following food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, knives, and decorating tools safely and efficiently
- Package finished products securely for delivery or display, ensuring presentation quality is maintained
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in flavor, appearance, and quality across all baked goods
- Assist in food preparation tasks related to pastry making, including measuring ingredients and preparing components for decorating or baking
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry preparation, or food production within a bakery or culinary setting
- Strong skills in cake decorating techniques such as piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and sculpting
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics and presentation
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing portion sizes
- Customer service orientation with the ability to understand and fulfill specific decorating requests
- Previous experience in food industry roles involving baking, catering, or culinary arts is highly desirable
