American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week night shift contract at a community hospital in Albemarle, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Work in a 16-bed Emergency Department at a 109-licensed-bed community hospital located in Albemarle, NC (approximately one hour from Charlotte)

Treats both pediatric and adult patients with conditions including COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmias, uncontrolled DM, and minor trauma

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity

EMR: Epic

IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; patient monitors: Philips; bedside and central telemetry monitoring available

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

No on-call responsibilities

Floating required to all facilities within Region 1 as needed, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and the Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) — candidates who are not agreeable to floating should not apply

Active NC or compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI

TNCC preferred

Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year

Proficiency in general ED skills including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drip management, vent management, chest tube care, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Advanced Primary Stroke Center; not a trauma-designated or teaching facility

Department support includes CNAs, a charge nurse (who may or may not carry a patient assignment), an IV/VAT team (ancillary, not in-house daily), 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and an ED physician team

Orientation includes facility-level NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation

Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays

Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any unmet contracted hours must be made up at the end of the contract

Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Navy scrubs required; free parking is available on site

First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered

Must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being eligible
