Duties
- Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, caulking, and surface repair to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including conventional and construction spray painting), and other hand tools with accuracy and consistency
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to execute projects correctly
- Perform surface treatments such as priming, coating, and finishing on various materials including drywall, plaster, wood, metal, and concrete structures
- Use ladders and scaffolding safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas while adhering to all safety regulations and respiratory protection protocols
- Conduct surface preparation tasks like sanding, patching holes, and applying sealants or caulking for a smooth finish
- Assist with renovation projects by installing fixtures, performing minor repairs, or handling handyman tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly following safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings to ensure precise application of coatings on construction sites
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction site painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including conventional spraying), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding equipment
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to painting projects is a plus
- Familiarity with color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations including respiratory protection and fall prevention measures
- Experience with surface preparation techniques such as plastering, caulking, sanding, and priming surfaces before painting
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coatings and surface area estimates
- Knowledge of coating types suitable for various surfaces including structural elements and renovation projects
- Valid experience using ladder safety protocols and working at heights safely
- Additional handyman or remodeling experience is advantageous but not required
