We are looking for an experienced Welder with strong TIG experience and Aluminum experience a plus to join our team at our facility in Aurora IL. You must be competent with aluminum welding and follow/understand all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a good eye, great attention to detail and be a team player. This is not a production line position and will be producing custom products.

GENERALSUMMARY: Will be required to operate welding equipment and perform welding, operate all related hand and air tools as needed. Operate material handling equipment when required, perform daily and routine maintenance, replenish parts via ERP system and visual trigger. Maintain 5s improvements, CI improvements, safety, quality, efficiency. Learn numerous weld processes on multiple jobs and knowledge of Aluminum. Perform other jobs within plant or department as required by supervision. Candidate must be reliable and have acceptable attendance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate weld equipment as directed by supervisor.
- Perform all position and types of welding.
- Report labor and job data accurately.
- Maintain quality, safety and efficiency.
- Maintain clean and neat work area.
- Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Equivalent of one-year acceptable welding experience, one year of technical college, Company welding course or equivalent training. AWS D1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and AWS D9.1 weld certifications would be a plus.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Equivalent of two years acceptable welding experience preferred or satisfactorily completing the Company welding course. Must successfully pass "B'' Welder qualification test to qualify.
SKILLS:
A good command of the English language is required, both written and spoken. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Possess the ability to set up and operate welding machines. Ability to read and understand prints, bills of material, ARI and safety notices. Responsible and accountable for completing all job-related checklists and safety-related checklists, and lists pertaining to a particular cab or part and safety checklists at the beginning of each shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to physically perform essential functions of the job. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Typically requires standing on a regular basis, and walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching and handling occasionally. Specific vision requirements include depth perception and peripheral vision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Regularly exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, vibration, electricity and heights. Typically requires the use of welders, hand tools, hoists, cranes, saws, all air tools, grinders, die grinders, orbiters, drill presses, and roller press. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, face shield or goggles, welding helmet and gloves are required.
