American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Acute Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center.
-
Inpatient acute care setting within the Rehab Services department at a Level II Trauma Center
-
Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions
-
Clinician is expected to work across all units within the hospital, primarily located in one tower
-
Day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
-
Minimum of 2 weekend days per month required, with additional weekend opportunities available
-
Large interdisciplinary rehab department of approximately 45–50 associates, including OT and SLP
-
PT team consists of approximately 8 core PTs, 3 core PTAs, and approximately 7 PRN PTs and PTAs
-
Cerner EMR used for real-time, point-of-service documentation
-
Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience required

Inpatient acute care experience required

Current PT license required if applicable

BLS certification required

Must provide a valid US Social Security Number and US home address

Driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with minimal supervision

Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills required

Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessments, plan of care development and revision, and delivery of physical therapy interventions

Clinician is expected to oversee physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel
-
Regular collaboration with the interdisciplinary team is an integral part of this role
-
Training will be provided by the team to prepare the traveler for clinical responsibilities
