Job Summary
Village Bloom Child Development Center is a NAEYC‑accredited, Reggio Emilia–inspired preschool located in Encinitas, California. We are seeking a Part‑Time Co‑Lead Preschool Teacher to join our joyful, collaborative, and professional teaching team.
Our nature‑rich campus is home to pigs, chickens, bunnies, lizards, and more, offering children daily opportunities for hands‑on learning, care, and connection with the natural world. Village Bloom was featured in theEncinitas Magazine for being a progressive and magical preschool and recently nominated The Best of North County by The Coast News.
Schedule & Classroom Assignment
- 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- M/W/F: 3s–4s class (1:6 ratio)
- T/Th: 2s–3s morning program (1:4 ratio)
Key Responsibilities
- Implement a Reggio‑inspired, child‑led curriculum
- Create engaging learning environments based on children’s interests
- Collaborate with the teaching team and attend weekly meetings
- Send daily family updates via Brightwheel
- Observe, document and support children’s social‑emotional development
- Conduct 2 parent‑teacher conferences during the school year
- Attend monthly Friday faculty meeting (2–3 pm)
- Maintain positive, professional, and transparent communication
- Work school calendar and summer camps
Qualifications
- BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Minimum 12 ECE units
- At least 2 years preschool teaching experience
- Prefer Reggio Emilia experience
- TB test, Live Scan, updated immunizations, and physical exam
- Dependable, organized, flexible, and passionate about early childhood education
Pay & Benefits
- $24–$29/hour, depending on experience
- 20 hours paid time off
- 40 hours paid sick leave
- Approximately 5 weeks of paid school breaks
- School‑year calendar with summer camp in June & July
- Potential future opportunity to travel to Reggio Emilia, Italy for in‑person training
