Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Microbiology Supervisor to join our team. The Microbiology Supervisor will be responsible for managing the microbiology laboratory and ensuring that all testing is performed accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the microbiology laboratory, including scheduling and supervising staff, ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining records
- Develop and validate microbiological test methods in accordance with USP and FDA requirements
- Ensure that all microbiological testing is performed accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review and approve microbiological test results and laboratory data
- Investigate and resolve any microbiological testing discrepancies or out-of-specification results
- Develop and implement training programs for microbiology laboratory staff
- Participate in regulatory inspections and audits as needed
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices in microbiology testing and laboratory management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of USP and FDA regulations related to microbiology testing
- Experience with method development and validation
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
