Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading daily operations at our college campus and high-volume locations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing people, and is looking for a long-term career with significant growth opportunities.
As an Assistant General Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high standards, developing team members, and helping drive the overall success of the restaurant.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Leadership
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all daily restaurant operations
- Ensure exceptional food quality, cleanliness, and guest service standards
- Support opening, closing, and peak-period operations
- Help maintain company systems, procedures, and operational standards
- Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation requirements are followed
Team Development
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring team members
- Train and onboard new employees
- Coach and develop team members through ongoing feedback and accountability
- Help create a positive, high-energy, and team-focused culture
- Identify future leaders and support their development
Scheduling & Labor Management
- Assist with weekly scheduling and labor management
- Ensure proper staffing levels based on business needs
- Support labor cost goals while maintaining excellent guest service
- Monitor attendance, performance, and team accountability
Organization & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked operation
- Ensure dining room, kitchen, storage areas, and exterior areas meet company standards
- Support inventory, ordering, and product organization processes
- Help maintain equipment and facility standards
Guest Experience
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding hospitality
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently
- Build relationships with guests and campus communities
- Ensure every guest leaves with a positive experience
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for hospitality and developing people
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and peak business periods
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform restaurant duties as needed
