Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Manager to lead our retail team through dynamic and fast-paced shifts. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing inventory, and supervising staff to deliver a seamless shopping experience. Duties
- Lead and coordinate daily store operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
- Supervise and motivate team members, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance performance and customer service quality
- Manage inventory control, including stock replenishment, ordering, pricing accuracy, and shrink reduction strategies
- Oversee cashiering activities, including cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and balancing registers at shift end
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized store environment
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires, participate in employee orientation sessions, and assist with recruiting efforts
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction levels
- Assist in marketing initiatives and merchandising efforts to promote products effectively and increase sales
- Maintain accurate records related to payroll, sales reports, inventory logs, and other administrative tasks
- Support assistant managers in implementing store policies and achieving sales targets
Skills
- Proven leadership experience with supervising teams in a retail or similar environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and engage customers effectively
- Proficiency in retail math for pricing, sales management, budgeting, and financial reconciliation
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and record keeping
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail software applications
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, stock replenishment strategies, and promotional activities
- Skilled in negotiation for vendor relations or resolving customer disputes diplomatically
- Familiarity with employee orientation programs, training & development initiatives, and performance evaluations
- Strong time management skills to prioritize daily tasks effectively
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
