What You’ll Do
- Provide direct patient care for diverse medical-surgical conditions including cardiac, stroke, and post-op patients
- Administer titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (manager approval required for some)
- Manage support procedures like chest tubes and tracheostomies (preferred experience)
- Support patient monitoring, documentation, and care coordination utilizing EMR (Meditech Expanse)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, PT/OT/ST professionals
- Work within nurse-to-patient ratios (RN 1:3, CNA 1:7) and unit guidelines
What You Need
Required:
- Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible
- 2+ years acute care RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
- Ability to pass EKG competency exam
- Key skills in medication administration, patient monitoring, and support procedures
Preferred:
- Experience with chest tubes, trachs, dialysis, lumbar drains
- Previous hospital telemonitoring experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
