Background: SWS-Trimac, Inc. is an Engineering company that specializes in providing electron beam and laser welding, CNC machining, plus destructive and non-destructive testing services to the automotive, aerospace, biomedical, chemical, defense, and other markets since 1967. We specialize in joining metals: from the standard 1018 carbon and stainless steels to the more exotic aerospace-grade aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel and cobalt alloys. Job Function: SWS-Trimac, Inc is seeking to fill a need for a CNC Okuma Lathe Operator & Programmer. Successful candidates will be a key team member in our machine shop.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.
- Perform job/tool setups on Okuma CNC lathes.
- The employee is also required to interact with a computer(s) utilizing company software and communicate with co-workers.
- Thorough understanding of the Okuma control is preferred.
- Ability to work with limited direction and supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of GD&T
- Familiarity with a variety of tooling and fixturing/work holding.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to communicate to Quality Department regarding first article and random inspections.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing equipment, ability to understand function of equipment, and each of the machines capabilities.
- Verbal Communication with supervisors and other employees.
- Functional and Technical Skills regarding, Tooling, Attention to Detail, and proper Judgment.
Education / Experience:
- High School diploma/GED Equivalent Required.
- Associate degree in Machine Tool Trade a plus.
- Job Shop or Prototype experience a plus.
- Journeyman tool and die maker experience a plus.
- Five (5) years of experience in related position in the machine tool industry required.
