Overview
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Daycare/Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will support lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for young children. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning and development, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote childhood development and learning.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety at all times.
- Support children with personal care routines such as diapering, toileting, handwashing, and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Communicate effectively with parents about daily activities, progress, and any concerns regarding their child's well-being or behavior.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws to ensure children's safety and well-being are prioritized.
- Support classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior and social skills among children.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is required.
- Knowledge of child development instruction, early childhood education principles, and classroom management techniques.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with parents.
- Familiarity with childhood development milestones, behavior management strategies, and caregiving best practices.
- Passion for nurturing young children’s growth through engaging activities and attentive supervision.
