Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support clinical operations across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and internal medicine. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing X-rays, and assisting with procedures in various specialties like dermatology or urgent care.
- Support documentation efforts using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems by accurately recording patient information, ICD coding, and medical terminology.
- Monitor patient physiology during visits, ensuring safety during procedures like medication administration or vital sign assessments.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering instructions, and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Support hospital-based care when needed, including experience with Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers to assist in emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or inpatient settings with clinic experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and basic life support (BLS).
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions.
- Familiarity with specialties such as dermatology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including intake procedures, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and X-ray assistance.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and service excellence.
