An established independent CPA firm in Frisco TX is hiring a Tax Manager to take ownership of an existing client portfolio worth approximately $1 million.
The Partners handle business development.
Your time will stay focused on leading client relationships, reviewing quality work, managing delivery, developing the team, and helping clients make informed decisions.
For someone who wants to operate as a senior tax professional without being pushed into sales, that is a meaningful difference.

You will inherit an established portfolio and become the main point of contact for those clients.
Your focus will be on review, sign off, planning, workflow, and client leadership rather than preparation work.

What you will be doing
Review and sign federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and businesses.
Lead client relationships and act as the main point of contact for your portfolio.
Manage workflow, deadlines, and review quality across the team.
Coach and support Seniors and Preparers.
Work with the Partners on complex technical and tax planning matters.
Identify practical ways to improve service, efficiency, and communication.
Help the team stay organised during busy periods without creating a culture of constant urgency.
What the firm is looking for
You will need to be an EA or CPA with strong public accounting tax experience.
You may already be a Tax Manager, or you may be an experienced Tax Senior ready to take full ownership of a portfolio.
You should be confident reviewing tax work, managing deadlines, leading client relationships, and making sound decisions without constant oversight.
Most importantly, the firm is looking for a steady and reliable leader who values quality, ownership, and clear communication.
