Duties
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for toddlers and twos
- Supervise children closely to ensure safety and well-being at all times, including during play, meals, naps, and transitions
- Assist with classroom management by maintaining organized learning spaces and encouraging positive behavior through gentle guidance
- Engage children in interactive play, storytelling, arts and crafts, and sensory activities to stimulate development and curiosity
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and daily experiences to foster strong partnerships
- Follow all health and safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification requirements, mandated reporting laws, and pediatric first aid procedures
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute activities that support individual needs, including those with special education requirements or disabilities
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in settings such as daycare centers, preschools, nannying, babysitting or similar roles is highly valued
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision best practices is essential
- Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment
- Familiarity with early childhood education standards and child development instruction methods
- Certification in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), pediatric first aid preferred but not required; training can be provided if needed
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents and team members about children's needs and progress
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
