Job Summary
Cafe Colibri is a new neighborhood coffee cafe in South Scottsdale. We pride ourselves on serving exceptional coffee alongside high-quality, fresh, and comforting food to our local community. We are looking for reliable, organized cooks to join our small kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-volume breakfast egg sandwiches quickly and consistently during morning rushes.
- Follow established recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, mixers, and food preparation tools.
- Monitor food inventory, track freshness, and handle daily kitchen prep lists.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting seasonal or innovative dishes that align with dietary requirements and customer preferences.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures, proper food handling practices, and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a short order cook, line cook, or cafe prep cook is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling protocols.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
- Reliable transportation to our South Scottsdale location.
- Valid Arizona Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain one upon hire).
