The Archive Lounge — the speakeasy tucked beneath The Library Historic Hotel — is hiring bartenders. We're a small, 21+ boutique hotel and cocktail bar inside a restored 1904 Carnegie library in downtown St. Joseph, MI. We open at 4 PM and close around 9-ish. No late-night grind, no bottle-service circus, no cover-band chaos. Just craft drinks, hotel guests + locals who care about the room they're in, and a bar built to feel like a secret.
What you'll do:
- Build cocktails from our seasonal menu + off-menu asks (we'll train you on the specs)
- Take care of hotel guests, locals, and private-event parties
- Open, close, count, restock, keep the bar spotless
- Run tabs through Toast POS
- Help shape the room — we're small enough that your taste actually matters
What we're looking for:
- 21+ (state law + it's an adults-only hotel)
- 1+ year bartending, ideally in a cocktail-forward or hotel/hospitality setting
- Solid on classics, comfortable learning our house program
- Warm with guests, calm in a rush, tight on cleanliness
- Available evenings + some weekends; open Wed-Sun
- TIPS/Michigan alcohol server certification a plus (or willing to get it)
What you get:
- Competitive hourly + tips
- Flexible schedule — we build it around the team, not against you
- A room that people talk about — great for building a following and a portfolio
