Are you an accounting professional with a strong construction accounting background who is looking for stability, growth, and a more visible role? We are seeking a Project Accountant for a well-established, family-led construction organization in the Dillsburg area. Compensation is flexible and will be tailored to the person’s level of experience, with the broader range expected to fall around $65,000–$120,000/year. This is primarily an onsite role, with flexibility to work from home on an as-needed basis. For the right person, there is also room to grow into a Manager or Controller-level role over time.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work and wants to be involved in job costing, WIP, billing, project tracking, and financial reporting. In this position, you will work closely with leadership and support project-related financial activity across multiple construction-related entities. The role offers the opportunity to make an impact, improve processes, and become a key part of a stable, evolving accounting team.
What You’ll Do
- Perform job costing, project accounting, and WIP reporting
- Support month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Track project costs, billings, change orders, and cost projections
- Help maintain accurate project records and accounting documentation
- Assist with fixed assets, cash monitoring, AP/AR support, and related reporting
- Work with project managers and internal teams to ensure accurate project financial information
- Help improve accounting processes, reporting, and workflow efficiencies
- Support special projects and other accounting needs as the department evolves
What We’re Looking For
- Construction accounting, job cost, and project accounting experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with construction ERP systems; Viewpoint Vista preferred
- Excel skills and comfort working with reports/data
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
- Willingness to learn, take ownership, and grow with the company
