We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientist to join our Research team in Portland, Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative and fast-paced environment supporting both research and clinical programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory workflows related to peripheral blood and tissue-based biomarker analysis, including spatial biology and flow-cytometry-based technologies
- Conduct peripheral blood processing, staining and assay preparation
- Conduct FFPE tissue processing, staining, and assay preparation
- Execute immunoassays, including flow-based and ELISA-based assays
- Execute multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF), IHC, RNAscope, and spatial imaging workflows
- Operate and maintain advanced instrumentation platforms and imaging systems
- Assist with assay development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with CLIA/GCLP quality standards
- Prepare experimental results and communicate findings to project teams
- Support sample tracking, reagent inventory, and laboratory organization
- Collaborate with scientists, project managers, and bioinformatics teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Oncology, Pathology, Biotechnology, or related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in histology, immunology, oncology, pathology, or spatial biology
- Experience in multiple areas of the following preferred:
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
- Multiplex immunofluorescence (mIF)
- RNAscope
- Tissue imaging and digital pathology
- Spatial biology platforms
- Flow cytometry (CYTOF experience would be beneficial)
- ELISA-based assays
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (CLIA, GCLP, or GLP) is a plus
