Inotiv is seeking a professional and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will safely and efficiently transport research products while representing the company with professionalism, care, and a strong commitment to customer service and animal welfare. Home Base: Frederick, MD (routes across East Coast territory)
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday (may include 2 overnights + rotating routes); Full time position (40 hours guaranteed)
Starting Rate: $33.51/hour
Benefits: Full benefits available within 30 days of hire
Key Responsibilities

This position requires teams driving routes weekly.

Safely operate Class A vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.

Pick up, verify, and deliver loads accurately and on time

Load and unload a variety of cargo safely and efficiently

Accurately complete required logs and transportation paperwork

Inspect vehicle pre-trip and perform basic maintenance as needed

Drive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather

Follow DOT regulations, schedules, and required rest periods

Navigate routes using maps, GPS, and directions

Provide courteous, professional service at all customer locations

Work collaboratively in team driving assignments

Handle and transport animals safely and humanely, including non-human primates

Adhere to strict animal welfare standards and safe handling practices

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
-
Valid CDL Class A License with a clean driving record

Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience (5 years Preferred) (Live animal transport experience preferred)

Successful completion of a motor vehicle record check

Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in English

Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly

Comfortable driving for extended periods

Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented

Solid knowledge of roadways, traffic laws, and DOT regulations

Strong customer service and communication skills

Must be comfortable working with animals of varying sizes
