Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist ophthalmologists in providing high-quality patient care by performing various clinical tasks and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a passion for patient care, and a comprehensive understanding of ophthalmology practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary eye examinations and gather patient medical histories.
- Administration of diagnostic testing, including visual acuity, auto refracting, tonometry, OCT imaging, visual fields, lensometry, and fundus photography.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Prepare patients for procedures, answering any questions they may have.
- Support ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing concerns and ensuring comfort throughout patient visits.
- Educate patients on pre and post-operative care, and medication usage.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized clinic environment and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Administrative Tasks
- Prepare and maintain patient charts for clinic use
- Answering phones and providing information to patients
- Respond to pharmacy calls
- Surgery scheduling
Experience
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy guidelines.

Physical Requirements
