Job Summary:
The Collision Center Manager oversees all aspects of the collision repair center’s operations, ensuring a high standard of service, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The manager supervises a team of technicians, ensures compliance with industry standards and safety regulations, and manages repair schedules, inventory, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily activities of the collision repair center, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality repairs.
- Manage and prioritize the repair orders and ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters, vendors, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and manage the repair team, including technicians, estimators, and customer service staff.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure excellent customer service by managing customer relationships, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive repair experience.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding repair status and completion timelines.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure that all repairs meet or exceed industry standards, including proper inspection and quality control processes.
- Conduct regular assessments of the repairs and work done to ensure high-quality output.
- Financial Management:
- Manage the center’s budget, monitor expenses, and ensure profitability.
- Track revenue, costs, and margins to meet financial goals.
- Work with the accounting team to ensure accurate billing and payment processes.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control for parts, tools, and equipment.
- Order supplies as needed and ensure efficient stock management.
- Work with vendors to secure parts and materials at the best prices.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure the collision center adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols for employees and customers.
- Marketing & Business Development:
- Help develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and grow the business.
- Build and maintain relationships with insurance companies, fleet services, and other business partners to generate new business opportunities.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding shop performance, repair volume, customer satisfaction, and financial status.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Collision Center Manager or in a similar role in the automotive repair industry.
- Strong knowledge of collision repair processes, insurance procedures, and auto parts.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to manage financials, inventory, and resources.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding vehicle repair, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on resolving issues and maintaining satisfaction.
- Proficient in using collision repair software, management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in automotive technology, business management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive repair industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
- I-CAR certification or similar industry certification is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday with some weekends or evening hours required.
- Work in a garage/shop environment with exposure to loud noises, vehicle emissions, and repair equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment and parts as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
