Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mix and apply paints and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and power tools.
- Inspect work areas regularly to identify imperfections or areas needing touch-up or additional coats.
- Clean and maintain spray guns, pumps, booths, and mixing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of waste materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, wear a respirator for long durations, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as an industrial painter or finisher preferably within a manufacturing, structural steel, or custom fabrication environment with a strong understanding of surface preparation and finishing techniques.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, spray equipment.
- Competence in handling various materials including but not limited to aluminum, steel, plastic, and PVC .
