Job Summary
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) working all shifts! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, and home care environments. Duties
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Support patient transfer methods and mobility needs while maintaining safety protocols for heavy lifting and manual handling.
- Administer medications and treatments following medical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments through tailored memory care techniques.
- Support clinical staff by preparing treatment areas using aseptic techniques and assisting with procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy when trained.
- Document patient information meticulously within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks to ensure accurate medical records management.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote understanding and deliver holistic patient service.
- Assist in emergency situations by applying CPR or basic life support skills promptly and confidently.
- Support diverse patient needs across settings including ICU, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, hospice care, behavioral health units, pediatrics, geriatrics, and post-acute care environments.
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification in good standing with the state licensing board.
- Experience working with a variety of patient populations such as seniors, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation and record management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices; physical stamina for long shifts on your feet.
- Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities to foster positive caregiver-patient relationships.
- Prior experience in critical care settings like Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or Medication Administration are a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards.
