We are seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Maintenance Technicians in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for equipment reliability, preventive and predictive maintenance, technician development, work-order completion, safety, and production support. The ideal candidate has strong electro-mechanical knowledge, PLC and instrumentation experience, and the leadership skills needed to hold a maintenance team accountable.
This is a leadership-focused role within a union manufacturing facility. While the position is not expected to complete every repair personally, the Maintenance Supervisor must be technically capable, visible on the production floor, and comfortable supporting technicians during difficult troubleshooting situations.
- Supervise and develop a team of industrial Maintenance Technicians

Assign daily work and ensure repairs are completed safely and correctly

Coordinate preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and equipment repairs

Work closely with production to schedule maintenance and reduce equipment downtime

Lead troubleshooting efforts involving electrical, mechanical, PLC, and instrumentation issues

Ensure maintenance work orders, labor, parts, and repair information are entered accurately in SAP

Monitor preventive maintenance completion and equipment reliability

Provide technical guidance during machine failures and production interruptions

Identify recurring equipment problems and implement long-term corrective actions

Lead Root Cause Analysis and structured problem-solving activities

Track maintenance performance through KPIs, including downtime, work-order completion, equipment reliability, and OEE

Train employees on proper repair methods, safety procedures, and maintenance standards

Enforce Lockout/Tagout, OSHA, USDA, GMP, and plant safety requirements

Manage technician performance, attendance, coaching, recognition, and disciplinary actions

Coordinate contractors, vendors, parts, and maintenance resources

Maintain accurate maintenance records and inventory documentation

Support TPM, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability initiatives

Communicate maintenance priorities across production, engineering, sanitation, quality, and plant leadership

Provide extended-hour and weekend coverage based on production needs
- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Previous maintenance leadership, supervisory, lead, or team-development experience

Strong electro-mechanical maintenance background

PLC troubleshooting experience

Industrial instrumentation experience

Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Ability to lead technicians and hold employees accountable

Experience managing maintenance work orders and documentation

Strong problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work the required second-shift schedule

Ability to support Saturday production and maintenance activities
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Equivalent industrial maintenance and leadership experience will be considered.
