Depending on the project and your experience, responsibilities may include:
- Interior and exterior painting
- Drywall installation, patching, taping, and spackling
- Baseboard, casing, crown molding, and trim installation
- Interior and exterior door installation
- Window installation and repairs
- Light framing and carpentry
- Cabinet and vanity installation
- LVP, laminate, hardwood, and tile flooring installation
- Kitchen and bathroom demolition
- Bathroom accessories and finish installations
- Minor tile repairs and small tile installations
- Deck repairs and light exterior carpentry
- Caulking, sealing, and weatherproofing
- Hardware installation
- Basic plumbing fixture replacement, including faucets, toilets, sinks, and vanities
- Basic electrical fixture replacement when legally permitted and assigned
- Punch-list corrections and final project touch-ups
- Loading, unloading, and organizing materials
- Protecting client property and maintaining a clean work area
- Daily jobsite cleanup and responsible debris handling
- Following plans, measurements, written scopes, and instructions
- Communicating promptly regarding field conditions or material needs
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hands-on residential construction, remodeling, maintenance, or handyman experience
- Experience in at least three of the following:
- Carpentry
- Drywall
- Painting
- Flooring
- Doors and windows
- Cabinets
- Tile
- General home repairs
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and basic layout tools
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely
- Reliable transportation to jobsites throughout Central New Jersey
- Valid driver’s license
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently after receiving instructions
- Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and team members
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials weighing up to approximately 75 pounds
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Willingness to maintain a safe, organized, and respectful jobsite
Preferred Qualifications
- Bathroom and kitchen remodeling experience
- Finish carpentry experience
- Tile installation experience
- Door and window installation experience
- Deck construction or repair experience
- Basic plumbing fixture installation experience
- Ability to read residential plans or construction drawings
- Personal hand tools
- Experience working in occupied homes
- Bilingual English and Spanish is helpful but not required
