Welt upholsters adds welt to furniture such as sofas, chairs, ottomans, benches and chairs by adding fabric welt to furniture according to design.
Pull next piece available in line-all supplies, cushions and backs are already with the piece.
Conduct initial inspection to assure cover matches ticket on piece, including cushions and backs
Assure that grain runs straight, no lumps, holes, or cat tracks
Permanently attaches the fabric with staples
Must maintain high quality standards while achieving production goal
Prior to starting on piece, re-check to assure all parts in piece are correct. If not reject.
Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend for 8 hours or more daily. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers and eyes to assemble upholstered furniture
Able to use common upholstery tools such as air powered staple guns, mauls, hammers, scissors, regulators, brass nail guns, tack pullers, glue gun etc.
Ability to use all common upholstery tools to perform traditional outside upholstery of leather and fabric furniture of various styles
Maintain a clean, safe working environment according to department safety guidelines
Any other duties assigned by a member of the Management Team.
At least 2 years of hands on inside/outside Upholstery experience
Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook to Intermediate level
Effective communication & interpersonal skills required to build relationships across the business
Demonstrate use of upholstery tools
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
