The Olivet Bookstore/Mail Hub & Spirit Store is hiring Seasonal Retail Associates to support our team during the busy back-to-school season. This temporary position is tentatively scheduled to end on September 30, 2026.
We are looking for dependable, positive, and customer-focused individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. This role primarily supports our college textbook rental operations, including receiving, stocking, organizing, pulling, and processing textbooks, while also assisting with apparel, merchandise, and general store operations as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
- Receive, sort, stock, organize, and process textbooks and course materials.
- Pull and stage textbook rental orders for customer pickup.
- Assist with textbook rental processing, returns, and inventory organization.
- Assist with Mail Hub operations, including organizing and handling packages.
- Assist customers with apparel, merchandise, and other store purchases.
- Restock and organize textbooks, clothing, merchandise, and other store inventory.
- Keep displays, shelving, clothing racks, and customer pickup areas neat and organized.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
- Keep registers, workstations, walkways, and other designated areas clean and organized.
- Ensure shopping bags, receipt paper, barcode labels, and other supplies are readily available.
- Perform other general store duties as needed during the busy back-to-school season.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Previous retail experience required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Dependable and willing to assist with a variety of store responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move 50+ pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout the store and work areas.
- Ability to safely handle and move textbooks, merchandise, packages, and other store materials.
